Who we are
Tenue is operated by AZ Robotics, 30 N Gould St, STE R, Sheridan, Wyoming 82801, USA. We are the controller of the data described here. Reach a human at hello@tenue.ai.
What we collect
Photos you choose to import, the wardrobe data we derive from them, the things you tell Alina (occasions, preferences, feedback), your account details, and how you use the app. Some optional details you can choose to give us — sizes, birthday, approximate location — help us dress you for your body and your weather. You can skip all of them.
What we do with it
One thing: style you. Your photos and wardrobe data power your own recommendations. We do not sell personal data. We do not show your photos to other users, and nothing you import is public unless you deliberately post it.
If you connect Instagram
Connecting Instagram is optional and read-only. With your authorisation we read your own account: your username and account type, and for media you posted yourself, the image or video, its caption, its date and its like count. We use that to show you a grid of your own photos so you can choose which outfits to bring into your closet — nothing is imported until you select it. Imported photos keep their original Instagram date, so your wear history is accurate instead of all stamped with today.
We never read other people's accounts, your followers, your comments, your direct messages, or anything you did not post yourself. We never post, edit or delete anything on Instagram. Captions are used to understand the occasions in your life — a wedding, a hike, a work trip — and never to infer anything about who you are.
You can disconnect at any time in Settings, which deletes the stored access token immediately. Revoking Tenue from Instagram's own Apps and websites screen also ends our access.
Who else processes your data
We use a small number of service providers to run Tenue. Your photos are sent to third-party AI providers to be analysed into garments and outfit descriptions, and your text conversations with Alina are processed the same way. They act on our instructions under terms that forbid using your data to train their models. We also use cloud hosting and storage providers to run the service and hold your images. We do not share your data with anyone else, and we do not sell it.
What we never infer
Our systems are explicitly prevented from recording protected characteristics — ethnicity, heritage, religion, health, politics, sexual orientation or immigration status — even where such things might be guessable from photos or captions. They are not needed to dress someone.
Face data
If you enrol a selfie, we store an encrypted mathematical representation of your face so we can tell which imported photos are actually of you. It is opt-in, never enabled by default, and deleting it removes it entirely. Only your own face is ever stored: other faces in a photo are compared in memory and immediately discarded. We do not use it to identify anyone else.
How long we keep it
We keep your closet and account data for as long as your account exists, because it is the thing that makes Tenue work. Delete your account and it goes with it. Instagram access tokens are kept only while the connection is active, and are deleted the moment you disconnect.
Your choices
You can see what we have learned about you in the app, correct or delete individual items, disconnect a linked account, delete your face signature, or delete your account entirely. If you want a copy of your data, or you want us to delete something specific, email us and we will do it.
Children
Tenue is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Deletion
You can delete your account and the data derived from it. See Data & deletion for every route, including email.
Changes
If we change how we handle your data we will update this page and its date, and tell you in the app when the change is significant.
